Our founder, Alfred, has always been in the electronics industry since early 1975.
Alfred spent the first decade of his career building his network, working in prestigious companies such as Singapore Telephone Board (presently known as SingTel), National Semiconductor Company (where he supported the Digital Test Engineering), and International Telephone and Telegraph Company ITT (where he set up the groundwork to manufacture pulse-code modulation system in Singapore). His final job, which proved to be the most crucial, was in Nemic-Lambda, which to this day, is one of the biggest names in the power supply Industry.
In Nemic-Lambda, Alfred learned the ins-and-outs of running a business. All his prior work experiences built an extremely sharp competency in engineering, but Nemic-Lambda was where he learned the other aspects of running an electronics business. From Manufacturing to Test Engineering, from Sales to Marketing, Alfred acquired good exposure to running every aspect of the business.
The early 1990s recession Alfred left his job in Nemic-Lambda. After spending some time scouting for opportunities, Alfred was approached by Astec, a big supplier of powersupply products, to be their representative. However, with his knowledge and expertise, Alfred went against the advice of his friends and family and started a distributorship with Astec instead. And thus, in March 1993, Cosmos Power was born.
Known for his inspiring work ethic and unparalleled competence in his field of engineering, Cosmos Powers’ breakthrough was fuelled by the dotcom boom in the late 1990s. With ex-customers working in the many new start-up hard-disk drive companies such as Seagate, Western Digital, Conner Peripherals, Microplis and Maxtor, Alfred secured multiple deals that propelled the company to success in the late 1990s.
In the early 2000s, Cosmospower went through rigorous testing and qualifications and was certified fit to assemble configurable power-supply. This became one of our main target industries as well, having direct impact on the manufacturing of medical equipment to fight the SARS outbreak in 2003, H1N1 epidemic in 2007 and the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020.

We believe in quality, and we maintain our high-quality work by keeping everything in house. From designing to testing, to fabricating and burning-in, we do it all ourselves at our workshop to ensure that quality is not compromised.
